If you use an agent, check these first

Good agents exist. These questions help you find one.
Ask for a written fee breakdown. Separate their fee from embassy and visa-centre charges.
Ask to see every page before it is submitted. It's your application and your signature.
Check they are registered. Ask for their business registration and office address.
Walk away from "guaranteed visa" promises. No one can guarantee an embassy decision.
Never pay for an "early appointment". Official slots are booked only on the visa centre's own website.
